Coffee and Baseball

My life revolves around baseball.

I'm a huge Giants fan.

I play in an 11-team Strat-O-Matic league that has been in existence since the 1980's, having been handed the Charlottesville Meadows about fifteen years ago (and winning one World Series in the interim, with hopes for another with 2001 cards still to be played). This league is full keeper, with 50-man rosters.

I have two fantasy league teams I care about, the Jo-Hari Hitters in Pine Tar and Cold Beer and Harder's Hitters in L.A. Slackers. Both are American League only with five keepers.

I've coached Little League the last four years, play softball weekly with the Rude Boys (an over 35 wood bat league), and just started playing baseball in a local over-30 league (I need it to be over 40 or even 50 for my skill level!).

And, for the last four years I've been privileged to attend the excellent S. F. Giants Fantasy Camp put on by Bill Laskey and his team.

So this blog is my repository for thoughts and reflections on baseball, best enjoyed with a dark roast coffee and a splash of soy.

Enjoy!

~ Joe
